Chunkster Challenge Review

Grab A Button and Sign Up! This is my first review for the 2014 Chunkster challenge , I signed up late and then this year didn't read very many books that had more than 450 pages. The book I read for this review was The Concrete Blonde by Michael Connelly, it is the third book in the Harry Bosch series. The plot of this book is that Detective Harry Bosch a few years ago killed a serial killer and is being charged in civil court by the widow. However, recent questions have been raised if indeed Bosch killed the correct person or if there is a second killer involved. We learn more about Bosch's past and what he has to admit in court, even though he would prefer some things to by private. So many different things occurred in this book, that I don't want to give anything away, so I know this isn't much of a review. This is one of those books that you want to pass on and have others read. My version of book had 505 pages which went by really fast, since it is a page turner. If you like crime detective mystery type books this one might be a good one for you. Even though this is part of a series I don't think you necessarily have to read the first two (I actually thought this was the best so far in the series).

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? 12/8/2014

1

I was able to finish reading my book from last week called The Black Ice by Michael Connelly. I thought parts of it were interesting, such as who were killing the cops, and other parts were not as some of it was a little slow. I rank it 3.5 out of 5.

My new book that I started reading is the next book in the Harry Bosch series called The Concrete Blonde. It actually looks really interesting, and anyone who has seen the Amazon pilot episode of the series, will find out that it starts with this third book. I guess Amazon will be releasing supposedly the whole first season of their show called Bosch next year. Anyways, in the book Harry Bosch killed a suspected serial killer and is now standing in a civil trial, but according to the description of the book, he may have killed the wrong man and the serial killer may be very much alive. I am  several chapters in, it is a page turner as far as I have gotten, and so far in the series it will be have the most pages totaling 505 (currently I think there are a total of 17 or 17 books in the series, so I am sure some of the other books might be longer). Currently out of the other books I have read in this series, I am enjoying this one the most, but we shall see if that continues once I have completed it.

It's Monday! What are you reading? 12/1/14

1  I read about another fifty pages this week and am now only have about 25% of the second book in the Harry Bosch series. I don't think I will be able to finish it by next Monday though, but getting closer to the end of it. I can't wait to see what the end will be and start on the next book called The Concrete Blond.

So what will I be reading today? I have read a little of Jane Eyre, but do not plan on spending the whole day reading her book (I was already halfway done reading it).

Here are the rest of the books that I can choose from:

Bout of Books: Day 1 Update

Bout of Books  So, did I get as far as I wanted to in reading yesterday? No, but I don't think I did too bad. Yesterday, I had a few errands to run, made dinner and then worked out. As today it will be very warm here, I plan on staying inside, until at least the evening, so plenty of time for reading! Here was my progress yesterday:

Monday:
Pages Read: 112
Books Finished: 0

I read 100 pages of the Drop and am about halfway through right now. I plan on reading that the most today. I started reading Walden and only on page 12 so far, different than what I thought it was going for starting the beginning.

Are you participating in the challenge? Even if your not, what books are you currently reading or have finished lately? I hope they have been good ones!
