Predictions of Snow....

Since we live on the East Coast the past two days the predictions of snow coming have been nonstop. I have heard 8-10 inches, 6-8, 3-6, 3, 6-10, so I am thinking the weather forecasters have not a clue how much we will actually get or not get. Last time a big storm came through we were supposed to have gotten quite a bit, and we received like an inch, other times we received more than predicted. This winter we have only gotten the one inch, so overnight if we get a few inches it is still a very mild winter. I do know it is supposed to be colder though, so I plan on making homemade potato soup for dinner tomorrow. I also plan on doing some quilting, on my nephew's belated birthday gift. So far I have gotten a little progress done.

Should have had this done....

by now and it should have already arrived earlier in the week for the recipient. However, our nephew just turned two (a day before my birthday) so I don't think he will mind. 😀 I think he will like it, as it had boats, flags, helicopters, etc.

I have done it using the pillowcase style since I do not like to do binding. I think sometimes borders are distracting from the rest of the quilt, depending on how they coordinate. I still have the quilting to do. The back fabric was what I had on hand, and while I know it isn't really a boy fabric I liked that it had hearts on it.

Are you working on any projects right now?

More Work Needed....

to complete these projects of various crafts I have been working on.

I will start with the projects I have had for the longest.

I have picked up the hand quilting for Mr. Crafts4Others quilt. I have found one or two thimbles that I really like and at the same time been testing various types of quilting hoops/stands. I was quilting away on Monday while listening to the Senate.

I am a few days behind on knitting the 2017 Temperature Afghan, but this progress goes to the 3rd of Feb. I will get to add yellow again once I get caught up as yesterday it was 74!

I haven't crocheted on this baby afghan until the 2nd of Feb., but I got a little bit more complete.

The newest project was put in by request by Mr. Crafts4others it is knited in the garter stitch to keep the keyboard of his computer from sliding on his desk.

What are you working on?

Lapghan Quilt Update...

here is the progress so far of my Grandmother's Flower Garden lapghan quilt that I have been making off and on for a year. There has been several months were I have not been working on it at all, so I think it is coming along pretty good. I am about halfway done I think, I need to take into account that I am quite a bit shorter than my Grandmother who will be getting this.

The humble beginning of this project.

This is the current progress, I think I have the width ok, and will need to add another 4-6 rows perhaps for the length.

More Scrappy EPP Done

Today I worked on more of my scrappy English Paper Piecing project. I still need to decide if I want to make this into a table runner or quilt, but I probably won't decide until I at least get this into a table runner size. The last photo I had only two rows but together and now I have added another one, with a fourth row soon to be added. So what are you working on?

My finds at the Quilt Show...

I forgot to show a few of the items I got at the quilt show. I didn't really spend that much money at all. There was a small boutique where quilters from my guild that had either made or donated items to be sold. I picked up this cute tote bag for only $2.

I also picked up this cute mason jar filled with 2 and a half inch squares for $4.

The last item I got was from a quilting shope vendor, I thought it was pricey but worth it. Normally not too big a fan of batiks but couldn't resist. Besides getting some thread free for volunteering, that was all that I got.

Quilt Show....

The quilt guild in which I belong to, is having their annual quilt show this weekend. I thought you would all enjoy seeing a few pictures of the quilts.
