IHSW September 2015 Signup

I have not participated I think at all for this and plan on working on two different projects for a little while over this month's IHSW weekend. I am not sure how far I will get but I figure any progress is better than nothing. I haven't worked on any cross stitching for quite a while, mostly been working on a quilt that I have posted in my previous posts. Since I am not sure how much I will get done I do not plan on showing anything previous pictures of my current works in this post, although I will probably take some and if I get quite a bit done, post them in my progress post. Tonight. I do not believe I will get any stitches completed mostly because I will be watching a football game as well as watching the premiere of Doctor Who. As anyone knows these two items are really action packed so stitching is out of the question. Do you plan on participating for this month's IHSW?

IHSW May 2014

I haven't been able to participate for a long time in the International Hermit and Stitch Weekend, so I am excited to be able to have enough time for counted cross stitch. I will only be working on one project, which is a gift for my sister, she is a lover of music.

Here is the before this weekend.....

I hope I get quite a bit done, but I think I have gotten a little bit off on my counting with the leaves. The finished design will have more piano keys, roses, and a flute. Will you be doing some cross stitching or other type of craft over the weekend?

Starting on design...

finally of my June 12for2012 project that I am working on for my sister. This is what I was able to accomplish over the past IHSW weekend. I am so excited that I am finally working on the actual design instead of just the wording and border.

Crochet and I items I got today...

I have tried to learn how to crochet and my issue is being able to keep the edges straight. I had heard this book was really good to learn crochet and had lots of pictures. I plan on practicing and practicing until I get it right. Earlier today I did pick some this lovely varieated crochet thread (perhaps it could also be used for tatting?). I also got some good movies at the clearance section, a John Wayne collection that includes 25 of his movies with a documentary for only $4.99! Can't beat that. It will be a gift for my dad as he loves John Wayne. Also for $4.99 I got the movie Raising Arizona, love that movie. I used to watch it all the time as a kid. See pics below! By the way I am going to be participating in the IHSW so will post progress pics later.

Cross Stitch Pattern Haul

I know that I have not yet posted by progress for this past IHSW, but I plan on doing that later tonight. Today, I got a huge cross stitch pattern haul come in the mail. Sadly, earlier this month the designer Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum who made patterns for Told In A Garden, Lavender & Lace, and Butternut Road passed away. I noticed that 1-2-3-Stitch was having a sale on some of her patterns, and I love most of them, so I could not resist purchasing my favorites that they had.

Not much completed...

this weekend considering it is time for IHSW, currently I don't have a picture as yet, I do hope I will be able to get more done tonight. I haven't stitched for about a week except a little today, I really wanted to stitch a lot this weekend, but I must have done something to my hand as it is swollen and painful. Tomorrow I will post a pic of my progress.

March 2012 IHSW

This is my first post for the International Hermit & Stitching Weekend.

This project I am working on will be for my niece for her birthday. She likes Tinkerbell and has been to Disney World, so I figured this would be the perfect gift. I want to complete it this month, so I have a long ways to go.

Love Challenges or SAL?

I found these challenges/SAL (stitch a longs) for hexagons and cross stitch. I love both of them! If you love hexagons and Grandmothers Flower Garden (GFG) design, check out One Flower Wednesday. People make a GFG and post it on their blog every Wednesday. The SAL is for cross stitch called International Hermit & Weekend (IHSW), to spend time every third weekend o fthe month working on a cross stitch project, then of course posting the progress on after that weekend. If your interested in joining or even looking at the wonderful work everyone is doing, just click on the names on the right hand side under links.  I better get stitching!
