The plates, bowls, and saucer plates that I have are originally my grandmother's, but I have never had the saucer cups before as they somehow become lost (wether before my mother got them or after who knows, as I got them a couple of years ago and they were missing when I received the other items) On my latest trip back I found them at a non-profit consignment shop for only 50 cents each! I should have gotten more, as I have quite a few more saucer plates than cups now, but only picked up 5 of them (since it is only my husband and I).
I used them yesterday with my coffee.

My Garden Vegetables...
I have been able to harvest a little bit of potatoes and green onions (which I had incorrectly purchased as I thought I was getting regular onions). So here are a few of the red potatoes and green onions drying out.
I picked the potatoes a few days apart from each other, and used them in two different meals. It was just enough each time for us to have as a side dish for one meal. For one meal I cut up the potatoes and just added butter with salt and pepper, the other time I had salt, pepper, paprika, chipotle paprika, and smoked paprika (this was little too spicey for me but my husband loved it). If you have never had homegrown potatoes they are fantastic. It has a lot more flavor and also when I tried one of the green onions even though it was really small it was very pungent (a little too much for me).
So have you ever tried homegrown potatoes or green onions before?

Birthday Gift
I purchased these two hand/kitchen towels and made mini EPP flowers and stitch them on. It was a gift for my grandmother for her birthday. I used some of the same fabric I am putting in the lapghan I am making for her.

New Books
I ended up getting this books over the weekend. I have previously read the Half-Stitched quilt books in the series and thought they were ok. The Oregon Trail book sounds interesting in that the author bought mules and a covered wagon and retraced the Trail. I only know a few things about Benjamin Franklin, and thought this book looked interesting. In regards to Jo's Boys I need to read the previous books but you don't hear about this and Little Men as much as Little Women. I find sometimes that famous authors have other books that are really good but for some reason they don't get the attention, hopefully when I get to read these that will be the case. Have you read any of these books?

Update on Grandmother's Flower Garden lapghan....
I have worked on this quite a bit more and here are the results. I am almost halfway done with this lapghan. I am not sure if I will have it complete by Christmas or not.

How is my vegetable garden doing?
Earler this spring I planted lots of different variety of vegetables; cucumbers, corn, green beans, sunflower, red and yukon potatoes, onion, carrots, lavender, basil, rosemary, oregano, peas, bell peppers, tomatoes, etc. However, not all of them made it and most of the ones that didn't I never replanted by seed; lavender, sunflower, tomatoes, basil, rosemary, oregano and cucumber. I ended up purchasing one plant of bell peppers, tomatoes, basil, rosemary and oregano. I really wish that I would have gotten more, and next year I already have different plans for a bigger garden. The soil isn't very good where I live so I have pots and raised bed. Next year, I plan on having several cinder gardens. I think some of the potatoes are getting close to being harvested and I planted a lot. Here are the pictures of my garden this morning. I see that two small bell peppers are starting and on the green beans that two small beans have appeared, so far the other bush bean plants haven't produced anything. I planted the basil with the tomatoes and the carrots with the onions. I think I needed a bigger container for the onions and carrots though.

My Spin Is....
I am late in posting as I had been traveling. My book for the Classic Club Spin #13 will be Kidnapped. This was on a previous spin that I didn't finish, so glad that I will now have a chance to read it.
