Ah, it is time to have another Classics Spin! The rules are that I need to pick 20 books from my Classics Club list that I still need to read. I have a few books on my list that I had previously started reading but than never finished as of yet, so I will list those first with an asterisk, then any others I want to read.

2. Walden and Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau*
3. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain*
4. Little Dorritt by Charles Dickens*
5. Poor Folk and other stories by Fyodor Dostoyevsky*
6. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte*
7. The Death of Ivan Ilych and other stories by Leo Tolstoy*
8. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy*

So many great books on your list -- I loved Jane Eyre, Germinal, and Sense and Sensibility in particular, and Little Dorrit is really good too. Lark Rise is on my list as well. Good luck on Monday with your Spin Pick!
ReplyDeleteGreat list! I think I'd pick Larkrise to Candleford - I haven't read it, but I loved the BBC adaptation. Hope you get one you enjoy!
ReplyDeleteYour list is great! I've read and liked both Jane Eyre and War and Peace, and there's a couple of titles here that I think will make my next Classics Club list.
ReplyDeleteWe actually have two books in common on our spin lists - Heart of Darkness and Huckleberry Finn, I'm sneakily putting those at the same numbers as yours, so if it spins up, we will both be reading the same book. As long as that's cool with you, of course. :) happy spinning.
I just read The Death of Ivan Ilyich and it was absolutely excellent so that would be a good choice. Short too. Good luck with your spin!
ReplyDeleteGerminal...one of my top 5 books ever!
ReplyDeleteLittle Dorrit is a long book but still a classic Dickens. I would be curious to read the Oregon Trail, never heard of this book.
Good luck and hope you get the book you want on Monday!
I can understand starting but not finishing War & Peace but Little Women :-D ?
ReplyDeleteI bet there's a story behind each DNF.
Good luck on Monday, I wish you Jane Eyre this time.
