Not Too Much Started

I have started a few projects last month. One of them is a quilt for my husband that I started hand quilting. The other items the Mirabilla project will be for my mother and the Tardis HAED project is for our house.

Black Friday

Today or yesterday to be exact once this post will be up for view, I am not shopping but spending time at home and having leftovers, watching football and working on some craft projects. Here are some of the photos of my latest progress and where I am starting today, perhaps I won't get too far but you never know.

Farm and Rooster WIP

I worked on this project quite a bit last week. Once completed this will go into our kitchen. I can't wait to start working on the Rooster later as it is very pretty. This is the only craft item I worked on last week. What have you been working on?

English Paper Piecing

A few years ago I started doing English Paper Piecing and quickly became addictive, I am sure like most people. Unfortunately, I had to put most crafts aside for quite awhile, but lately have slowly been getting back to them. I have picked up my english paper piecing again, and am making a very scrappy table runner/quilt (I haven't made up my mind yet which one). This project uses 3/4" hexagons. As a Christmas gift I ended up giving a friend her own starter English Paper Piecing kit and showed her how easy it was. I think she enjoyed it.

I loved this English Paper Piecing (EPP) quilt that I found on Paper Pieces. Isn't it just beautiful!?!

EPP Quilt from Paper Pieces

What have I been up too?

I haven't been on here lately, but here are a few things that I have been busy doing:

Making quite a bit of homemade bread and mini rolls as you can see below

I have been getting back to doing some crafts;

For those Doctor Who fans, it reads Books are like Tardises, Bigger on the Inside.

I have actually gotten more done on this music cross stitch, but haven't taken another picture yet.

I am currently reading these books:

Unfortunately no crafts...

I haven't been able to do any crafts lately, although this isn't all do to not having time, but mostly because of being sick. I am hoping that I will be able to return to crafts and writing letters soon. I hope to send out postcards this week, just to let those know who I have been corresponding with that I have not forgotten them. They will be very short though, and perhaps later on I will be able to write letters. Crafting will be a bigger issue though, and I really hope that I am much improved this month because I will be going on a Quilters Retreat. Perhaps, on my next post I will be able to write more.

Changes.....

As you can tell I have changed the background of this blog and am loving it so far. I have always loved antiques and items of the past. I think that is why I love history, reading about the past lives of people, as well as doing crafts such as hand quilting or crocheting. It gives a sense of connection with the past. I felt a change was needed especially since more of my posts are not just craft related. What do you all think, do you like the new look?

My Love for Books....

Besides enjoying crafts, I also love to read and have almost three bookselves full of them. This wasn't always the case, and at one time in my life I hated to read. Anyways, almost a year ago the Quilt Guild in which I belong too started a book club. It has been great and I have found some authors I otherwise wouldn't have normally read. Lately, though I have been thinking that I really do need to read more of the books I have. Of course, besides just reading a good book I also like to talk about them with others. So every once in awhile, or more if I like a book, I plan on putting in my two cents of what I thought. I may even now and then have a giveaway. Currently I am reading the following;

The Union Quilters
The Fault In Our Stars
The Other Mr. Darcy
The House of Tyneford
