Multi-Tasking While Making Sauce....

It doesn't take a whole lot to make the pasta sauce, as it needs stirred about every half hour or so, but I wanted to have something else to do in the meantime. I had some fabric that a fellow quilter had given me, so I decided to use the dinning room table to cut the fabric. This will be used in the Grandmother's Flower Garden that I am making. How do you multi-task?

My finds at the Quilt Show...

I forgot to show a few of the items I got at the quilt show. I didn't really spend that much money at all. There was a small boutique where quilters from my guild that had either made or donated items to be sold. I picked up this cute tote bag for only $2.

I also picked up this cute mason jar filled with 2 and a half inch squares for $4.

The last item I got was from a quilting shope vendor, I thought it was pricey but worth it. Normally not too big a fan of batiks but couldn't resist. Besides getting some thread free for volunteering, that was all that I got.

Future Projects for Next Week?

I have a few projects that I want to either start or finish next week. I am not sure if I will be able to get to all of them, but I can at least try, right? Off and on I have been working on a English Paper Piecing project, and there is still a long ways to go. While shopping the other day though, I found this fabric which I think will be good as a backing for a English Paper Piecing project.

I think that this will work great, even though my project right now isn't in a flower theme like the backing fabric above is.

I also got some panel fabric, that I think will go good with our kitchen table, that will be made into placemats.

At first I didn't really care for the fabric, however it did grow on me. Comparing it to the table above, I think the fabric was a good one.

I found that Joann's had some tatting needles, so I picked them up along with a little bit of new thread. Here is a picture of the burgundy colored thread, although it looks hot pink in the photo.

Skirts and Dresses..

I have made clothes on my own, just one skirt with the help of my mom. Lately, though I have wanted to make my own skirts and dresses. Mainly for a few reasons; I am very picky on my clothes, my size is not always in stock, and the prices now are getting out of control for a nice skirt or dress. Here is some fabric that I have chosen;

I plan on making this navy flower fabric into a dress.
Normally I am not a pink person, but thought the fabric was cute with the green. This will be made into a skirt.
I love blue, as you can probably tell, so far I cannot make a decision if I want to make this into a skirt or a dress. I guess it will depend on if I have enough fabric to make it into a dress or not.
I started taking some classes over on Craftsy. I want to make an A-Line skirt , I will probably make mine longer, and the retro bombshell dress as well. Later on I hope to get some fabric to make a blouse.
