I can hardly believe it has been over a month since my last post. Recently, I took a class by Bonnie Hunter called Virginia Bound, and am only halfway done with one block (I think the finished size is 15 inches). Over this weekend I hope to complete the first block, not sure if I will make more, and then I will post a picture. I finally was able to find a frame for a Tinkerbell counted cross stitch gift I made for one of my nieces. The background was already done in the kit, so I just worked on Tinkerbell. When I was making this years ago (it took me awhile to make and then I put this up in a "safe place" and then thought I had lost it), it was the biggest project I had ever worked on at the time. The picture was an odd size so it was really hard to find a frame, who knew?
Tomorrow I plan on making homemade pasta sauce, I did this several months ago and it was really good. Unfortunately, I thought I had saved the recipe, but now can't find it. I hope another one I have found will be just as good. I will be making some homemade parmesan reggiano and pecornio romano bread to go with it.
This week it has been warm here, so Dexter and I are just hanging out (literally in his case) in the nice AC.

March 12 for 2012 Complete!
Finally completed Tinkerbell today. I do not plan on doing the backstitches as normally I am not a fan. I hope my niece likes her birthday gift (it is belated, but I gave her other gifts before). So far for the 12 for 2012 projects that I will be completing I have finished the months of Jan., March, and April. The next project that I will be working on for my 12 for 2012 list is the month of June. It will be a belated birthday gift for my sister. After that I plan to go back and work on the months for Feb, May & July to get caught up.
Here is a final pic of Tinkerbell;
Today in our house we are having a Harry Potter marathon, so I will be working on this project quite a bit today. I have already worked on it a little bit before today. Currently I am still on the M for music with the grey color.

Haven't posted in awhile...
May was a busy month, and I know that June will be even more so. Still, I do hope to be able to contribute more to my blog. I may not have too much to show as far as crafts go though. I still have Tinkerbell to finish yet. It will need to be finished soon. I can hardly believe that the Olympics start next month, and am thinking of what craft I should do while watching. Does everyone have a project planned out? I have a few ideas, and can't decide if I want to just work on one project or two. I guess only choosing one might be better to ensure it is completed, but still just in case I get bored.

Retreat....
I had a fantastic time at the retreat, it will definately be on the list for next year. I was not able to accomplish as many of my own projects I wanted to do, but was able to get a lot of the monthly block exchanges done. I hope to complete more of them tomorrow at a monthly quilting bee. I was able to challenge myself and learned a few techniques that I had never done before. I will either make another video or post pics later.
I have yet to decide about the book giveaway, but will try to make a decision soon. Speaking of books, I recently borrowed the book The Half-Stitched Amish Quilting Club by Wanda Brunstetter from the local library. It is really interesting so far and I am only on the third chapter. Basically, it is about a amish woman that put a ad in the local paper to teach quilting. The characters who will be her students range from a young women, to a couple, and even a male biker.
I still have Tinkerbell to finish for my niece before my deadline that I made of Wednesday.
As it is now the month of May, I need to start my project for 12for2012. It is a cute wall hanging, that will end up being a gift for one of my grandmothers.

Started a new project...
I made this video at around 1 am so was pretty tired. I can't seem to get motivated to finish Tinkerbell, even though I am so close to getting it completed. Perhaps this is because it isn't turning out like I had pictured in my mind. Anyways, after creating this video, I have since started another project, which I will show next week, at least this is one that needs to be completed for a challenge. I am part of a group of people who are trying to finish 12 projects for each month of the year, the challenge name is 12 for 2012.

HAED Project
I have worked more on Tinkerbell and gotten a lot accomplished. Although, I do not have a picture yet. I am debating if I should take another picture or wait until it is completed.
Soon I will be starting my first HAED project! This stands for Heaven & Earth Designs (which they are currently have a sale I saw). After getting a little feedback on how to work on such a big project (although they do have mini projects), if I should use a frame or Q-Snaps, the census is that most prefer the Q-Snaps. I just need to get the bigger Q-Snaps, and check to see what thread I need.

March 2012 IHSW
This is my first post for the International Hermit & Stitching Weekend.
This project I am working on will be for my niece for her birthday. She likes Tinkerbell and has been to Disney World, so I figured this would be the perfect gift. I want to complete it this month, so I have a long ways to go.
