Snow Day Yesterday, equals craftiness..
Yesterday, was a snow day, so I had a pleasant relaxing day. For quite awhile I have not been in the mood to do cross stitching, but need to get this one project completed. You all were probably wondering when I was going to show some crafty posts, as they have been slim of late. Here is the before picture;
After working yesterday, here is my progress, not too bad but still need to do more this week and next.

WIPocalypse 2013
Another craft challenge I plan on joining for next year, some of you crafters have probably seen the challenge on other blogs this year. I have some ideas for projects that I was not able to either finish this year or even start. However, I do know that I might need to add more projects to participate for the whole year. I will show my list later on, probably at the beginning of the year.

Projects...
Here are just a few of the projects I plan on starting & completing this year.
This is a Mirabilia cross stitch pattern that I want to make for my mom, and of course for myself as well. Love this pattern.
This one will be for our house. What better place than the kitchen? My husband liked this one as well. Hopefully to have it completed in December 2012.
My mother loves to read, so I will be making this bookmark for her birthday.
This kit is made from the same company of the Harbor Lights cross stitch that is previously on my blog. I was delighted to find this Golfing one, as my dad loves this hobby.
I plan on making some type of quilt for my husband this year. He loves this kind of homespun fabric (so do I).

My husband loves Halloween, and he loves these type of items. So this one will be hanging up in our house in October. |
My sister has always loved music. This will be her birthday gift and I thought it would have a nice place to hang up in her office.
Just in case you thought all I did for crafts was cross stitching, here is a small wall hanging. This will be for my grandmothers birthday this year. I plan on trying to do as much as possible by hand, even the quilting. I love to hand piece items. This kit is made from the same company of the Harbor Lights cross stitch that is previously on my blog. March 2012 IHSW
This is my first post for the International Hermit & Stitching Weekend.
This project I am working on will be for my niece for her birthday. She likes Tinkerbell and has been to Disney World, so I figured this would be the perfect gift. I want to complete it this month, so I have a long ways to go.

Love Challenges or SAL?
I found these challenges/SAL (stitch a longs) for hexagons and cross stitch. I love both of them! If you love hexagons and Grandmothers Flower Garden (GFG) design, check out One Flower Wednesday. People make a GFG and post it on their blog every Wednesday. The SAL is for cross stitch called International Hermit & Weekend (IHSW), to spend time every third weekend o fthe month working on a cross stitch project, then of course posting the progress on after that weekend. If your interested in joining or even looking at the wonderful work everyone is doing, just click on the names on the right hand side under links. I better get stitching!

Cross Stitching...
I have only been doing counted cross stitching for a little over a year now, but love it so far! I am enjoying looking at all of the different cross stitch blogs through blogger.com. A few months ago, I saw a Heaven & Earth Designs pattern that was being worked on, and immediately fell in love with several of their patterns. I have since purchased a few but as yet, still need to start on one. They will be by biggest project yet, that I will attempt to do. I am not sure which pattern I will pick though. One great thing is that I have seen several of HAED blogs on here. This is my latest completed cross stitch project. It was for my husbands belated birthday.
